Each thermometer is certified and traceable to NIST and is supplied with a certificate with one critical temperature value calibrated with the reported results. Each thermometer is serialized.

The thermometer probe is housed in an unbreakable plastic bottle or vial filled with a buffering media which maintains the thermometer reading when the instrument door is opened.  The thermometer and the bottle housing the probe have dual magnets allowing attachment to doors or walls of the instrument. The model for Ovens has PFA Safety-Coated bottle.

Other features include a flip-open stand, and supplied with a AAA alkaline battery. The instrument is ºC and ºF switchable.

Range is -58/158°F and -50/70°C with a resolution of 0.1° and an accuracy of ±1°C. Displays date and time when minimum and maximum temperatures occur. Audible and visual alarm feature provides alert when temperature rises above or falls below two set points. Alarm is programmable in 1° increments.

Three foot cable permits refrigerator or freezer doors to close on it. Probe is sealed in a media bottle (1 x 2 inch) filled with a nontoxic glycol solution.
